Patagonia sustainability
Environment
More than 70% of the materials used by Patagonia in their volume are environmentally preferred raw materials. Patagonia also aims to use only mostly preferred materials in the future - including organic and renewable cotton, recycled polyester and recycled nylon. Patagonia does not use Phthalates in their production and they also aim to become Perfluorinated Chemicals free in their production by 2025. Patagonia is committed to the quality and durability of its products and offers repair services to further extend the life of its products.
Social Conditions
A large part of Patagonia's products are made in China and Vietnam. Patagonia holds its suppliers (and itself) to the highest environmental and social standards in the industry. To manage the process, they rely on industry tools and standards, and when sufficiently stringent standards do not exist, they create them themselves. Patagonia has a Supplier Workplace Code of Conduct which is based on International Labour Organization (ILO) core labor standards and requires compliance with all laws in each of the countries in which their factories operate. They are also a member of the Fair Labor Association® (FLA). The FLA is a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization established to hold apparel companies accountable for responsible labor practices.
Climate
Patagonia has disclosed their annual climate footprint since 2013 and they are working hard to reduce their emissions. Around 95% of Patagonia's carbon emissions come from the supply chain, which includes everything from the crops needed to make yarn to transporting finished garments to warehouses, stores and our customers' doors. Patagonia's goal is to become fully carbon neutral for the entire business and supply chain by 2025.

Loistava laukku moneen käyttöön!
Ostin tämän Patagonian 55-litran laukun eräänlaiseksi "perusleirilaukuksi", koska lähdin Norjaan kesätöihin pienelle saarelle ja päätin asua tämän 2,5 kk ajan teltassa. Puran teltan joka aamu, kävelen työpaikalle ja illalla takaisin leiripaikkaani, jossa pystytän teltan yöksi. Olen kantanut tässä laukussa n. 15-18 kg päivittäin muutaman kilometrin matkan selässäni ja koen, että sen kantomukavuus on ollut uskomattoman hyvä, koska olkahihnat ovat hyvin muotoiltu ja juuri sopivasti pehmustettu, vaikka ovat vain alle 10 mm paksut. Laukku painaa vain n. 1 kg olkahihnat pystyy irroittamaan, joka oli kätevää, kun laitoin sen lentokoneen ruumaan. Vetoketju ja laukun kangas ovat supervahvaa tekoa ja uskon tämän laukun kestävän siksi kovaa käyttöä 10-15 vuotta. Olen niin tyytyväinen tähän laukkuun, että suunnittelen jo ostavani käsimatkatavaralaukuksi 40-litran version, joka alleviivaa sitä, kuinka tyytyväinen olen tämän laukun designiin, laatuun ja toimivuuteen!
