Sustainability Certificates

BELOW WE HAVE LISTED THE CERTIFICATES WE USE TO CHOOSE THE PRODUCTS TO OUR WEBSITE.

ONLY ORGANIC AND RECYCLED COTTON

organic cotton

All our cotton clothing is made from organic or recycled cotton. Organic cotton has two certifications GOTS and OCS.

Conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop in the world. These toxins can be deadly for the farmers, the factory workers, us as consumers and the wildlife ecosystems. For example, these pesticides have been known to affect important bee colonies in the farm fields. In addition to chemicals, conventionally grown cotton uses intensive irrigation which means it´s one of the largest water users among agricultural crops. These are the reasons we have chosen to offer only organic and recycled cotton.

ONLY MULESING FREE MERINO WOOL

ZQ certification

We offer only ethical animal products, including mulesing-free merino wool or recycled wool. The highest sustainability certification for mulesing-free merino wool is ZQ standard.

Mulesing procedure means cutting skin from around a lamb’s breech to create an area of bare, stretched skin. Because the scarred skin has no folds or wrinkles to hold moisture and feces, it is less likely to attract blowflies who might cause the death of the sheep. Research shows the pain of mulesing is similar to that of castration, but it lasts up to 48 hours. No animal should have to go through the pain and stress that this kind of procedure causes. Public pressure to improve sheep welfare has led to the wool industry researching alternatives to mulesing.

PRODUCTS THAT ARE DESIGNED AND MADE IN FINLAND

Being a Finnish company, we like to support brands and manufacturers that design and produce their products in Finland.

RESPONSIBLE DOWN PRODUCTS

Responsible Down responsible down

The Responsible Down Standard RSD or TDS are independent, voluntary global standards. The standards recognize and reward the best practices in animal welfare. Down is traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure that the birds that supply it are protected by the strongest animal welfare and consumer assurance standards. These include robust requirements in all areas of the birds’ lives, and especially protects against force-feeding and live-plucking.

VEGAN PRODUCTS

The “PETA-Approved Vegan” logo allows companies that sell apparel, accessories, furniture, or home decor to highlight their vegan offerings, helping consumers find animal-free products at a glance and make purchases that align with their values.

OEKO-TEX® CERTIFIED PRODUCTS

With its decades of experience, the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, contributes to high and effective product safety from a consumer’s point of view. Test criteria and limit values in many cases go far beyond applicable national and international standards. Extensive product checks and regular company on-site visits also ensure that the industry has a globally sustainable awareness of the responsible use of chemicals.

OPEN COMMUNICATION

Our demand is that the brand communicates openly about their manufacturing locations, how they ensure ethical production methods and eco-friendly production. These can be communicated through for example FairTrade or bluesign labels, but not all brands can afford to have these certifications.

HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS

We choose only products that have a high-quality design and multiuse and long life as its core values.
